Alfa Romeo decided to go racing from the very beginning and dominated motorsport in the 'golden era' of the automobile through to the 1970's.
They were the very first World champions in 1925 and they won the classic Mille Miglia no less than 11 times , the most any manufacturer has ever won.
They also won the famous Targa Florio, another gruelling classic race, 10 times, second in total only to Porsche.

Alfa Romeo practically stamped their own mark on Formula 1 racing too, when they won the very first two Formula 1 championships in 1950 and 1951.
In World Sports car racing, they dominated the 1975 and 1977 World Championships to win again.
It is fair to say that Alfa romeo have been victorious at every single circuit in every class of racing at least once in their glorious history and it is impossible to list all.
Of more recent times they are possibly thought of for their dominance in touring car racing which is a true testiment to the abilities of the road cars Alfa Romeo produce.
Alfa Romeo are winners, true champions, and have a motor sport history that is Legendary.
After countless wins in the re runs of the Classic Mille Miglia, which was decribed by Enzo Ferrari as being the toughest race in the world, Alfa Romeo won again in 2008 with an Alfa 6C 1500 from 1928.
