Alfa Romeo Pandion Concept

Details of the Alfa Romeo Pandion Concept

These are the pictures of the stunning new Alfa Romeo concept car. It is a celebration of Alfa's 75 year relationship with the Italian car design house Bertone, which has birthed 23 stunning automobiles. Alfa Romeo's current coupe the GT is the most modern example of this coming together. It's name evokes images of the legendary Athean King who fought in the Great Theban Wars.

The first thing that catches your eye when you look down the hood of the Alfa Romeo Pandion is how it flows voluptously from the T-Shaped grill that proposes a brand new Alfa Romeo family feeling. The landscape view of the car is certainly a sight to behold as the flowing side window stretches from the front wheel arch to  the rear. The rear view of this stunning Italian sports car is the ultimate in modern car design with a "pixilated" look representing the tail of a comet.

The driving force behind the design of the Pandions interior was to deviate from the norm, to produce one of the most unique and interesting interiors in the automotive world. It uses "Algorithmic Design" to produce non-linear, anti-geometric systems to reproduce natural phenomenon. This all results in what could be described as abstract modern art.

The interior shell is designed to give an organic feel and recreates the roots of a tree. The weaving of the frame provides side impact protection as well as being incredibly stylish and is the empithamy of form and function working  symbiotically. The Alfa Romeo Padion's centre piece is provided by the coming together of the interior and the exterior and is found in those fantastic doors. The doors have been designed to mimic the wings of a falcon and have to be seen to be believed.
