Leading Alfa Romeo dealership beats the credit crunch by selling over 500 MiTo’s!

SALES of the prestigious Alfa MiTo at Mangoletsi, the UK’s largest Alfa Romeo dealership, are in top gear as over 500 of the models fly off the forecourt in 2009.

The Alfa MiTo was launched in the UK on January 24, 2009, and sales of the model at the Knutsford-based dealership have been strong despite the impact of the current recession.

The economic downturn has had a dramatic affect on the car industry as a whole but Mangoletsi Managing Director Fraser Hudson says that sales of the Alfa MiTo show that customers are still prepared to invest in a new car if they can get the right deal.

Fraser Hudson said: “During a recession customers are obviously keen to get the best value for money and the Alfa MiTo offers motorists the prestigious Alfa Romeo brand at an affordable price.”

Initiatives such as the government’s scrappage scheme have also helped to boost sales of the MiTo as customers look to trade in their older cars for a new model without spending more than they can afford.

For example an Alfa MiTo 1.4 16v Junior, with a normal on the road price of £11,945 is currently available for £9,945.00 under the scrappage scheme, which provides a significant saving for many customers.

Fraser Hudson said: “The government scrappage scheme is encouraging more people with older cars to look at the possibility of upgrading to a new model and because the MiTo is so competitively priced customers are seeing a fantastic opportunity to invest in a brand new model without breaking the bank.”
