The industry gongs just keep on coming for Alfa Romeo's highly-acclaimed Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, as the flagship sports saloon was named 'Best Sports and Performance Car' in the annual What Car? Car of the Year awards 2018.
Judged by an expert team at What Car?, the Italian marque beat off stiff competition from Audi, Mercedes, BMW and last year's category champion Porsche to win the 'Best Sports and Performance Car' category in the annual awards.
This prestigious win is the latest accolade for the Giulia sports saloon, which has won seven industry awards in the UK in the last 12 months alone.
Combining 50:50 weight distribution with rear-wheel drive architecture, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is powered by a 510hp, 600Nm Bi-Turbo V6 petrol engine, which allows it to achieve a top speed of 191mph and accelerate from zero to 62mph in just 3.9 seconds.
Andrew Tracey, Sales and Marketing Director at Alfa Romeo UK, said: "The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio has turned heads and captured hearts since its debut, and this has been reflected in its ever expanding trophy cabinet. Garnering recognition from one of the oldest and most established authorities in the automotive industry is a great way to kick off 2018 and demonstrates what Alfa Romeo has managed to achieve with the Giulia Quadrifoglio".
The Alfa Romeo Giulia was also shortlisted in the 'Executive Saloon' category whilst Alfa Romeo's first ever SUV, Stelvio, was nominated in the 'Large SUV' category.
