Introducing the Fiat 500 Mirror

Fiat has launched another special edition 500 to mark the long awaited arrival of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on its supermini, which is on sale now.

Called the 500 Mirror, it debuts with a choice of five exterior paint colours, including a new ‘Electronica Blue’ metallic finish. The door mirror covers come with a chrome finish, alongside ‘Mirror’ badging on the B pillar and 14-inch wheels with chrome hubcaps. Larger 15-inch wheels make the options list.

Inside, the 500 Mirror gets a leather multifunction steering wheel and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system mounted centrally in the dashboard, featuring Bluetooth. The big news though is the addition of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility – plug your smartphone in via one of the USB ports, and you can use the interface for maps, music and telephone capabilities right from the touchscreen or by using voice commands.

Two body styles are available. The 500 Mirror comes as a hatchback in its most basic form, but the drop-op 500 Convertible gets the Mirror treatment too. While there’s choice here, engines are limited to just one standard option – a 1.2-litre petrol unit developing 68bhp. Either a manual or automatic gearbox can be equipped – the automatic marginally more efficient in terms of fuel economy and emissions – and the 500 Mirror starts from £12,515.
