An F1 Inspired Alfa Romeo Giulia Coupe

An F1-Inspired Alfa Romeo Giulia Coupé?
Alfa Romeo is reportedly developing a stunning new Giulia Coupé featuring Formula 1-inspired Energy Recovery System (ERS) technology, according to Autocar.
Autocar has also released a striking concept rendering of how the Giulia Coupé could look — and if the design is anything to go by, Alfa Romeo enthusiasts are in for something very special. But it’s the rumoured performance figures that are really turning heads.
Two electrified powertrains are said to be under development. The first combines the Giulia Veloce’s 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with ERS technology to produce an estimated 345bhp. The second uses the Giulia Quadrifoglio’s 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6, delivering a remarkable 641bhp — potentially making it the most powerful road-going Alfa Romeo ever produced.
To put that into perspective, that figure sits just 20bhp shy of the mighty Ferrari 488 GTB.
According to Autocar, the Giulia Coupé could make its debut later this year before going on sale in 2019. If the rumours prove true, Alfa Romeo may be preparing one of the most exciting performance cars in its modern history.
While we’ve yet to hear anything official here at Mangoletsi, it’s certainly a car we’d love to see become reality.
