MG GO! Concept Makes Global Debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed

Goodwood, West Sussex – July 2026

MG has unveiled its striking new MG GO! Concept at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed, showcasing a bold vision for the brand's future in the fast-growing electric supermini market. The retro-inspired concept blends classic MG styling with cutting-edge electric vehicle technology and is expected to preview a production model due in 2027.

Designed at MG's Advanced Design Centre in London under Design Director Carl Gotham, the GO! takes inspiration from the iconic MGB GT while embracing a clean, modern design language. Compact proportions, sculpted bodywork, and minimalist detailing give the concept a distinctive identity aimed at younger EV buyers.

The GO! was one of two concept cars revealed by MG during this year's Festival of Speed, alongside the larger Cyber Concept SUV. Together, the pair signal MG's intention to expand its electric vehicle range while maintaining a strong connection to its British heritage.

Although MG has yet to confirm full technical specifications, industry reports suggest the production version could offer around 250 miles (400 km) of driving range and be positioned as an affordable rival to cars such as the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric and other compact EVs. Pricing is expected to remain accessible, continuing MG's value-focused approach.

Beyond the concept cars, MG's Goodwood display featured its growing range of hybrid and electric models, including the Cyberster roadster, MG4 EV Urban, and several plug-in hybrids. The company also showcased advances in artificial intelligence and autonomous technology through interactive demonstrations.

The MG GO! Concept represents more than just another electric hatchback—it reflects the company's ambition to combine emotion, affordability, and modern technology in a package that honours over a century of MG history. If the production model remains faithful to the concept, it could become one of the most anticipated affordable EV launches of 2027.
